The Healing Hearts Project was a collaborative community project in response to 9/11. Participants from all over the country, including children and families of 9/11 victims, created individual fabric hearts in memory of the victims. They were installed at various sites in the tri-state area to honor the lost. Eventually, the hearts were “released” back into the community and have found homes around the world, including within the WTC site, where they will remain forever.
